1.1555(W-Nr) - 1.1555 is a high carbon, low alloy steel, it is suitable for manufacturing tolls without shock loads, low speed cutting tools, cold work tooling, etc. Including turning tools, milling cutters, drilling bits, reamers, screw taps, screw dies, gauges, files. As far as knives are concerned, it can be used for all types, form small, high efficiency cutters to large, heavy duty knives, although officially 1.1555 is not a shock resistant steel, it can be heat treated for toughness, although I don't see a good reason for doing so, why not pick a designated shock resistant alloy instead. 1.1555 is not a high carbide volume alloy, so at high hardness it will benefit form thin, high polished edge.

Manufacturing Technology - Ingot

Country - Germany(DE)
